Jaxon's First Haircut

Jaxon got his first haircut on Wednesday, June 25. He of course screamed the whole time because he was scared of the clippers. It turned out so cute, and he doesn't look very babyish anymore. Nikki(Steve's Girlfriend) cut his hair, just like she always cuts Roman's hair. She does such a wonderful job. For a baby who moved his head constantly she gave him the perfect haircut. If he didn't look enough like his dad before, Jaxon and Jon look identical. It is amazing to me that they are pretty much clones of each other. I think my mom was way more traumitized than I was with his haircut. His hair was so curly and beautiful. He was extremely cute, but it was getting out of control to where I couldn't even wet it down without it completely turning in to kinky curly town. He's got really thick hair like his mom and dad and there was just nothing I could do anymore about it. I wanted to wait until his first birthday, but there was just no waiting. It all turned out great, and his hair is so cute. He looks like a little boy now.

Roman Loves Church

Roman absolutely loves going to church, well at least nursery anyways. He has a very hard time with sacrament meeting, because he has to sit their for over an hour. He wants to play with his friends. All week he asks to go to church. He'll come up to me and say "mama, I want to go to church today." It will be Tuesday normally when he starts going to church. The crown he is wearing he made at church yesterday. They always have a lot of fun in Nursery. He also now at the end of prayers says Amen loudly sometimes. It's really funny. He most of the time waits until everyone else has said it and then he says it. It's so cute. I guess all of the little kids in nursery call one of the Nursery leaders grandpa. It's adorable. A married couple does the nursery and they all call the husband grandpa. As Roman was running out of the nursery yesterday when we went to pick him up, he said "bye, grandpa". It was so funny. I really like that he loves church so much!

Jaxon and His ways of making sure I get NO Sleep!

On saturday, Jaxon had been playing the whole day and had only a 20 minute nap early in the morning. He normally takes about an hour nap in the afternoon, but skipped it this day. Well it was about 5:00 when I noticed he started getting a little tired. He kept on playing, and then about 30 minutes later, I realized that for about 1 minute I didn't hear any noises. My initial reaction was that he found something and had choked on it. I looked down on the floor and he was completely passed out half on the tile and half on the carpet. I made sure his back was rising before I did anything. Sure enough it was. He was fine and had just fallen asleep he was so tired. Well I kept trying to wake him up, because I knew he would be up all night if I didn't. Well he wouldn't wake up and kept crying at me when I did try to wake him up. So he went to bed and woke up at 2:30 wanting the play. I made him go back to bed. But by 5:00 he was ready to be up for the morning and play. I was so exhausted. My child has not slept a whole night through since he has been born. He is 2 weeks away from being one. My child is not normal at all. They say that by 2 months old 70% of infants sleep through the night. Well, Jaxon has been past the 2 months many times now. I hope all you mothers our their appreciate if you have a child that sleeps.

Happy Father's Day

We went to Muskogee, Oklahoma for father's day this Sunday and spent the whole day with Jon's dad. There was a wedding reception as well from Jon's side of the family at a park, so we went there. While we were there Roman got to feed ducks, and had a blast. Roman, Uncle Danny, and Jon also got to ride on a paddle boad. We hung out with papa all day long and just played. Then the weather got so bad that we ended up having to spend the night there. I hope all you father's out there had a great day.

My 22nd Birthday!

Yesterday was my 22nd birthday, and I had a blast. My family went to Silver Dollar City and just had fun. It was perfect outside. 89 degrees and partly cloudy with a nice breeze. We were able to do the water rides and roller coasters without being cold. We ate a lot of food and had such a fun time. I rode the kiddy rides with Roman. We rode the elephants.

Roman came on the lost river with my mom, Jon, and I. We had fun until it got to the dark part where it made a noise kind of like jaws when the shark is coming towards you. He screamed the rest of the way. It was kind of funny. His grammy (my mom) told him that she beat that monster up and took care of him. Roman talked about that the whole ride home.

After Silver Dollar City we went to Lamberts where I of course filled myself up with Rolls before even getting my meal. I ate 5 rolls, and then only ate 3 bites of my lamber burger. I was so glad we were able to all spend the day together.

Pregnancy

My pregnancy was one of the worst things I have ever gone through. It wouldn't have been so bad if I wouldn't have been sick almost the whole time. I was sick for 28 weeks. Those of you who don't know a pregnancy consists of 40 weeks. By the time I was about 5 months along my back hurt so bad my husband would have to lift me out of bed. My body was having a hard time stretching. I would throw up at least 10 times a day if I didn't take my Unisom. Unisom is a sleep aid with the side effect of anti-nausea. It was the only thing that kept me sane during my pregnancy. If I didn't take it, I couldn't even last throughout the day. By the time I quit throwing up, I had become a natural at it. I would have to say that my labor was way easier than my pregnancy. The morning that I woke up and knew I was having Jaxon, I woke up with a baseball sized amount of water in my underwear. I went to the bathroom and changed my underwear, to make sure that I hadn't peed my pants before waking up Jon. I waited about 5 minutes, and sure enough there was another little puddle of water. My water had ruptured. I woke Jon up and of course he didn't believe me. He thought that I had peed my pants. I assured him that I had not. We called Roman's Grandparents to come and get him. They were going to keep while I was having the baby. Although I was only having contractions every 20 minutes that weren't even that bad, I knew it was time to have the baby. When we got to the hospital, they checked for amniotic fluid. Sure enough the test was positive and they had to keep me even though I was only dialted to a 2-3. We got to the hospital about 12:30 in the afternoon. After about 4 hours I was at a 4, but the contractions were so bad that I told Jon if I didn't get my epidural soon, he wasn't going to make it out of the hospital. 15 minutes later, Justin Evenson, a good friend of ours from church came and gave me my epidural. It was one of the best moments of my life. I didn't feel anything, until it was time to push Jaxon out. At the last time they had checked me I was dialated to a 6. Then, like 30 minutes later, I kept telling them I had to poop really bad. The nurse said that was normal. My mom was like no she is getting ready to have this baby, you need to check her again. The nurse assured my mom that she just checked me and I wasn't ready to have the baby. My mom said no you need to check her, because in our family we hit a 10 really fast. Sure enough, she checked me and the baby was crowning. She called for the doctor and Jaxon was pushed out in 15 minutes and 3 pushes. It was the easiest delivery and I only felt a little bit of pressure. The weirdest thing about it all was when his head and shoulders were out, I looked down and then they just pulled him out. It kinda grossed me out. Then they asked Jon if he wanted to cut the cord. He did. When he cut it, blood splattered everywhere, on the walls, my face, our clothes, my pillow, and the wall like 3 feet behind me. It was so gross. Jaxon was born on July 8, 2007 at 8:32 pm. He weighed 7 lbs, 2 oz. and was 20 1/4 inches long. I was very glad to have him out of me and meet my boy at last.

The Engagement Period-Through Wedding

During the time that we were engaged we did a lot of fun things. Too many to name actually. Jon had joint custody at the time of his son Roman and had him on Tues., Weds., Thurs., and every other weekend. Any time Roman was over there, so was I. Roman was the funnest baby. He was happy all the time and fun and easy. Roman had such an attachment to Jon because he took care of him so well. Roman has always been his daddy's boy. When we didn't have Roman we were always doing something with friends and spending time with family. We eat dinner at my mom's house every Sunday with the whole family, where my brother Steven comes and of course we being the evening of old stories and of course all of his crude comments.

Jon started coming to church in January of 2006 with me every week and of course brought Roman. He really enjoyed coming and the people there. He started to take the discussions from the missionaries at the time. The missionaries were such wonderful teachers. We couldn't have asked for two better men. Jon went to church for quite a long time before deciding that it was true and got baptized on September 23, 2006. I was very glad that he waited for that long to know before getting baptized. Some people do it to shortly and then just quit going. Now, Roman asks by about Thursday every week when is it time to go to church. Of course, he just wants to play with his friends in the Nursery, but he still loves going to church. It is such a good thing to get them going when their little because they enjoy more if you start it when they are young.

Jon and I got married on January 27, 2007, thus ending the engagement period. We had a beautiful wedding. We got married in a Chapel in Bella Vista, Arkansas. It was an amazing chapel. Jon's uncle married us, and did a fabulous job. He didn't just read from the back of a book. He wrote everything that he said to us and did such a wonderful job. We were grateful that he lives close by to do that. The whole day was so wonderful. Of course I was about 3 months pregnant when we got married and on the whole way to the chapel I was so scared that I was going to throw up during the ceremony. I had been extremely ill and threw up every day. I had to take a medicine the night before in order not to throw up. It was kind of sad that on the day of my wedding that was my biggest concern that I was going to throw up on my dress. Luckily I didn't. Sugar was one of the things that settled my belly, so I ate candy all the way to Arkansas.

The wedding was beautiful. We had Roman as the Ring Bearer and he cried most of the way down the isle. Renee Forest was my Maid of Honor and she carried him down because he was crying. It actually is a cute picture. He really wanted his dad. In the middle of the ceremony when it was really quiet, my brother had brought some fries and gave some to Roman, well Roman dropped one and said very loudly UH-OH! It was so cute, everyone started laughing. The rest of the day was great. We had a fabulous reception at the Holdiay Inn with a great turnout. I'm so grateful that I met such a wonderful man, with a wonderful family.

In the Beginning...How I met Jon

I met Jon when I was looking for a second job to bring in some more money. I was already going to school full time and working another job, but I was done with all of that by 3 and wanted something else to do. I started looking for a night job in March of 2005 and found one at Sunterra Resorts. It was probably one of the last jobs I wanted to do....but the hours were perfect and you made decent money. The job title was a telemarketer selling vacations to our resort. On my first day of training we had this awful trainer named Rick who was a total goober. He was one of the Floor Managers. Well then he wanted to introduce us to the other manager. He walked in the door and we had an immediate attraction to each other, it was obvious. His name was Jon.

As he began introducing himself to the table, I was in the last seat. He shook my hand last.....which I remind him of all the time.....He had the girliest handshake out of anyone i'd ever met. I make fun of him to the day for it. He said he was just nervous. Well, I was on the sales floor for 2 weeks and had only sold 2 vacations. I was awful at the job. But, Jon did not want me to leave, so he got a different position that open in the activations department. That meant that I got the easy part of calling people and setting up their dates for the vacation that they had already bought. Well it turned out that I was really good and getting people to set up their dates and was made into the evening assistant manager. Within a couple of weeks after doing that I decided since Jon wasn't going to make the first move that I better do it. Even if we were just going to be friends. I went up to him one evening after work while I was on the phone with a friend( I thought it might soften the blow if he said no) and asked him if would like to start walking with me on this trail. We had both been recently talking about how we needed to start working out. So I figured that was the best way to get him to hang out with me. Well, he said yes and we started walking a few times a week. It just fell into place from there. We started going on dates and having a lot of fun. Then, one day I got a mysterious phone call with some bad news(I won't go into detail), that ended it for me and Jon. We no longer talked unless it had to do with work. I wouldn't even speak to him if he tried. I tried to start dating again....only 1 guy and then decided like most women do in their lives that men suck and that I was going to become a nun.

Well then a good friend of mine, Brianne Kemp(now Heiner) was going to get married. She asked me to be a bridesmaid, and I new it was my chance to go on a vacation and get out of town. Well about 3 weeks before I left Jon and I started talking nice again, and decided on the friendship thing again. So after returning home from her wedding in September, Jon and I began to start dating again. At this point he had a 1 month old son from a previous girlfriend. I already knew he was having a baby when we starting daing in March. Well things started getting pretty serious pretty fast. In December of 2005, we had a work party and all went well. We had a lot of food left over and Jon and I decided to go donate it to Souls Harbor in Joplin. We had decided to go watch a movie afterwards. When we are on the way(in our seperate cars) he started going a different direction and took me to the park(trail) where we had originally started walking together. I knew right then something was up and I figured he was going to propose. Well I was right. He walked over to the middle of a grassy area, pulled a ring, an insanely gorgeous ring I might add out of his hat and proposed. I was so excited that after I said yes I just grabbed the ring and slapped it on my finger, realizing that he wanted to do that part. And everything has gone great ever since. Next I will start telling more of the story and the coming of Children!
